I completely forgot to post this yesterday for we were out and about till late at night — which once I got settled I fell asleep. I can honestly say I am unsure how many new meals I can squeeze in a week but you can guarantee that I will probably have two due to me experimenting with some crockpot options.

Pumpkin Waffles – I finally purchased our own waffle maker — granted it was the cheapest one in the store. I know how much my kiddos like waffles so why not save money and make them fresh rather than having frozen ones. With a new waffle maker why not try a new recipe – Pumpkin waffles which I got from The Girl Who Ate Everything. The waffles and flavor were a hit so I know they will be made again before winter hits.

With the focus of making a meal be ready after my long Wednesday we tried this Crockpot Spaghetti by Heidi’s Nest. Quite a quick prep for the meal and it was ready when we got home. I will say that it need a tad bit more sauce for me but it got eaten.
Today I had an opportunity to make a different type of meal — packaged meals which benefit a program called “Hope for Haiti”. Our church is determined to make 1 million meals over these next couple of days and we had the chance to help this evening. Although I just scooped the vitamins into the bag it was well-invested 1.5 hours of my day. Not only because I got to make a difference but I got to spend that time with my oldest daughter (she held the bag while everyone put in their scoops). I am constantly looking for opportunities for my children to give back and help others — allow them to see that not everyone has the same life and how we can always uplift others no matter what.
